CNET Community Hot Topics weekly newsletter
April 12, 2005
Dear CNET members,
Have you ever seen a great price on an item, but then note in the fine print that the price is only good if you send in 50 rebate forms? OK, I'm exaggerating a bit, but you know what I'm getting at. I know it's in the best interest of most companies to offer eye candy such as rebates to suck you in on great deal. But, they're also hoping that you'll either forget or simply not bother to mail in the confusing paperwork. I've done it a dozen times, either forgetting about the rebate or worse, receiving the rebate check and not remembering to cash it before the expiration date. Ugh, that irks me! Anyhow, enough of my ramblings; what's your experience in dealing with rebates? Love them? Hate them? Do you have a method to this madness to make sure the companies pay up? I know you have a lot to say, so to get you started, check out Tom Merritt's tips on rebates. And together, with your shared experiences and opinions, we can make a bold statement to the companies offering rebates to "show us the money" every time, all the time! Let's win this game! TalkBack to us.

Cheers!

Linksys WPS54GU2
Wireless-G print server

You and the CNET editors both agree that this wireless print server is a pain. With a low overall user rating of 3.9, there was one clear gripe: this thing in nearly impossible to set up. In fact, many of you reported that you couldn't set it up and had to return it.
