Dear CNET members, I remember back in 2007 when Apple announced its first-generation iPhone, and followed with its first tablet, the iPad in 2010. I was really impressed -- wow! Those were some cool, innovative, and revolutionary products! Since then, the market has been flooded with similar products coming in all shapes and sizes and competing quite nicely with Apple products. The last couple of big Apple announcements were just meh (nothing exciting) -- its sixth-generation phone, the iPhone 5, and fourth-generation iPad and the iPad Mini. Not just because of all the rumors and spoilers, but also because its new products weren't groundbreaking, only additions and some enhancements. And now with its recent management shakeup and Apple's stock taking a steep tumble, you have to ask if Apple has lost its mojo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mojo)? I'd like for you to read fellow member Ajtrek's forum post titled "Has Apple Lost Its MoJo (mo~jo | noun) : charm, magic?" As an Apple enthusiast, he questions Apple's mojo, or lack of lately. Do you agree that Apple is starting to lose its charm? Do you think that its recent products are now more evolutionary, rather than revolutionary? What do you think of the last couple of Apple product announcements? Were you blown away or were they simply not interesting? How about the company's recent stock prices, which have taken a fairly steep nose dive: is that just temporary or do you see more dips? What about Apple's upper-management changes starting with Tim Cook? Bottom line: has Apple lost its mojo? Tell us what you think! (Note: please remember to respect everyone's opinion and keep the conversation a civil one. Thanks!) |
