CNET Community help and how-to weekly newsletter
November 25, 2005
Happy Holidays CNET members,
In the midst of this Thanksgiving holiday season (that is, for those of you who are celebrating this occasion), I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you members for your incredible contributions to the CNET community. Without your voice and participation on our site, these community newsletters wouldn't be possible. So again, thank you! As I mentioned last week, we will not be having a Q&A this week. However, I did promise you a Community poll-arama to nibble on through the holiday. So get your votes in and discuss. I'll see you all next week when we answer Dawn's question on how to digitize 90 years' worth of photos.

I also wanted to remind you that TODAY is the day for the Holiday Helpdesk marathon! If you previously e-mailed us to reserve a spot for the Holiday Helpdesk, stand by and wait for a call from our CNET experts: Brian Cooley, Dan Miller, Molly Wood, and Tom Merritt. And what if you didn't get a chance to reserve your spot? No worries, they'll be live all day today for 12 hours on a marathon streaming event to answer your holiday shopping questions. So, need help figuring out which camera to buy or what to get for the geek who has everything? They'll be standing by to answer your calls, e-mails, IMs, and even Webcam calls. Stream us up from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. ET and call 1-888-989-CNET. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to get your shopping questions answered live during the show and get this--become eligible for a chance to win an Xbox 360! Check out the Holiday Helpdesk for more info. Take care and enjoy!

Cheers!
Lee Koo

Check out next week's question:
Q Please, I really, really need help. My mom passed away, and I inherited the family photos. I'm thrilled to say the least --I love them--but I need to create copies for the family. I figured, hey, scan them in and print 'em, not a problem. Wronggggggg! I am a total novice and haven't a clue about what is best or where to start. What size should I scan at, what file type should I use, is there a program that lets me print pages that look like a photo album page (or collage look), or do I have to print everything lined up like little soldiers? The questions go on and on and on and I have 90, yep 90, years of photos. Thank you!
